To replace the crankshaft seal:
Preparation: Gather the necessary tools: a seal puller, a new crankshaft seal, and engine oil.
Access the Seal: Locate the crankshaft seal at the front of the engine, often behind the harmonic balancer.
Remove the Old Seal: Use a seal puller to carefully remove the old seal without damaging the surrounding components.
Clean the Area: Thoroughly clean the seal housing to ensure a proper seal with the new component.
Install the New Seal: Lubricate the new seal with engine oil and press it evenly into place using a seal driver tool.
Reassemble: Reinstall any components that were removed to access the seal, such as the harmonic balancer.
Test for Leaks: Start the engine and check for any oil leaks around the crankshaft seal.
Maintenance: Regularly inspect the seal for signs of wear and replace it as needed to prevent oil leaks and maintain engine performance.
